1.) Why should I choose Turfscape for my Lawn?

2.) What is Turfscape?

Turfscape is a synthetic grass manufactured with a blend of polyethylene, polypropylene and nylon fibers that simulate natural grass blades. When in-filled with natural silica sand, the fibers stand up to look like natural grass, for years of grass-like appearance and use. Turfscape is better for the environment and it eliminates the required maintenance and expenses associated with traditional grass sod.

3) Is Turfscape pet friendly?

Yes, GreenTurf Solutions installs Turfscape Series products on residential properties and on commercial pet care facilities around the world. Turfscape makes it possible to have pets and a beautiful lawn too! Turfscape is perforated for drainage allowing liquids to drain through. Solids can be picked up as they would be with natural grass and then the turf can be rinsed off with a hose. No more muddy paw prints on your flooring. Think of the time and money saved on cleaning floors!

4.) Can my children and/or pets play on Turfscape?

Children and pets love it. The fact that they don’t have to worry about sand spurs, reduces the chances of insect infestation and reduces hazardous chemical residues. All the neighbor’s children are usually playing in our yard. As a parent, I love the fact that my children are outside playing and get more exercise then they use to get. There are no HARMFUL CHEMICALS used on my lawn. So we have a very safe lawn for the children and/or pets. Research has shown that many of the lawn chemicals in use today have been shown to cause cancer, reproductive defects, neuro-toxic damage, liver or kidney defects. And nearly all are skin irritants and sensitizers.

6.) How much does Turfscape cost?

A Turfscape Series product installation should be looked at as an investment in your most valuable asset, your home. This investment starts paying you back as soon as the lawn is finished. 7.) What is the square footage price of Turfscape?

A Turfscape synthetic grass installation cannot realistically be quoted without a visit to each job site. Each property is different and prices for each project are individually based on turf product, ground preparation, size, and numerous other factors.

Any synthetic turf company that provides prices over the phone or via the Internet is only selling turf and not taking into consideration all the factors that play into a properly installed synthetic grass lawn. GreenTurf Solutions looks at each and every factor to properly determine the right Turfscape Series product for your job (desired landscaping, irrigation, ground prep, slope, edge detail, seaming, and drainage issues, etc).

8.) What about the rains (drainage)?

Synthetic Grass has a perforated back that will drain 30 to 40 inches of water per hour when properly installed.

9.) How long will Turfscape last?

Turfscape Series products, installed by GreenTurf Solutions typically have a 15 to 20 year life expectancy. Most sports fields and general use fields have basically non-stop use and have lasted 10 to 12 years. The life of a synthetic grass installation is really dependent on how much and what kind of traffic is using it. Turfscape Series products come with an 8 year insured limited warranty.

10.) What about rodents and bugs?

Say goodbye to these lawn-destroying critters! No natural grass, no water, no insects, and no food, means no more pesky critters and you can have a safer lawn because you will no longer be buying and/or using fertilizers and/or pesticides. 11.) Why do some companies use crumb rubber (recycled tires) for their infill?

Crumb rubber serves the same purpose as natural silica sand, by holding the grass fibers up right, to give the grass a cushioning feeling creating fall zones in playgrounds and sports fields.

Natural sand creates an additional filter and absorbs water for better vertical drainage. Note: If a customer specifically ask for a particular infill product and signs a waiver, we will install the desired product.

We need to conserve water but if we don’t preserve the water, what good is the water, if it’s not drinkable! 12.) Will Turfscape fade?

Most synthetic grasses are manufactured with UV protection built in. Turfscape offers an 8-year UV protection warranty. Independent studies show that most synthetic grass will fade at a rate of less than 1% per year. After 10 years. in direct sunlight, any fading will be imperceptible to the human eye.

13.) How do I maintain a Turfscape lawn?

It’s more of a matter of keeping the turf area clean. Cleaning requirements are as follows: removal of organic materials can be accomplished with a flat shovel (for animal waste), and a plastic leaf rake/leaf blower is the ideal tool for general upkeep. A stiff, natural bristle broom and/or a natural bristle power broom can also be used to “fluff” the turf.

14.) Is there a warranty on Turfscape?

There are a wide variety of warranties offered by synthetic grass manufacturers and synthetic grass companies. The warranties range from just a few years to 10 years. Most cover UV protection against fading, discoloration, and problems with material. You want to watch out for pro-rated warranties. 15.) Are there any mold or mildew issues?

With a properly installed Turfscape lawn, there will be no mold or mildew problems, due to the perforated backing and the design of the sub-base. The synthetic grass drains better than natural grass. The key is to have the synthetic grass installed by a knowledgeable company that understands and addresses any and all drainage issues that can arise.

16.) Can weeds grow through it?

We cannot guarantee that weeds won’t grow. From our experience, on the majority of our installations, weeds have not been a problem. As of yet we have not seen weeds growing up through the tough turf backing or along any seams. You may however, from time to time, have to pull or spray for weeds along the boarder edges where Turfscape meet other surfaces. The biggest problem with weeds is that the seeds can fly through the air and they can grow out of anything, as we all know. We recommend you use only environmentally friendly products and/or sprays.

17.) Will a Turfscape product installation increase my property value?

Any investment in quality landscaping will go directly towards the value of your property, according to studies done by GE Finance. This does not take in to account the additional curb appeal and desirability of any and all potential buyers. Everyone desires to have a beautiful, lush green, perfectly manicured lawn. 18.) Does Turfscape get hot?

Yes, as with any surface that is in the direct sunlight for any amount of time, but Turfscape does not absorb or radiate heat like pavement, rock, pavers and/or asphalt. Turfscape cools to the touch within seconds of shade or water.

19.) Will Turfscape stain?

Properly maintained Turfscape synthetic grass lawns are virtually impervious to stains. The fibers are made of polyethylene and/or polypropylene, which are essentially a plastic and can commonly be found in the plastic bowls your family utilizes to prepare and serve food. Sticky spills should be cleaned up to stop them from attracting dirt and bugs.
